SUMMARY:Climate Change: Past\, Present & Opportunities for the Future
DESCRIPTION:Climate change is one of the most vexing challenges humanity faces. It is an equally enormous opportunity. This talk will compare how Earth’s climate has changed through geologic time and how that compares to human-caused climate change. We will discuss the broad consensus on what needs to be done to control climate change and find that we already have many of the technical solutions we need. \n\n\n\nRicardo Garcia is a retired forester and wildlife biologist. He holds B.S. degrees in forestry and wildlife biology from the University of Michigan. His 35-year career with the US Forest Service took him to national forests in Wisconsin\, New Mexico\, Puerto Rico\, Ohio and the national headquarters in Washington\, DC (plus fire-fighting assignments in Minnesota\, California\, Colorado\, and Oregon). After retirement he did consulting work for the Forest Service in Peru. Recent travel experiences have included a rafting trip in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and a wildlife safari in Zambia. Ricardo has been an avid birder since high school. \n\n\n\nIn Partnership with Green Oakwood
